Early arrival get-together
Saturday, June 8 between 19-21, please join us for an arrival get-together in the Radisson Blu Marina Palace conference site and hotel first-floor lounge. The city of Turku will welcome us with a glass of sparkling wine, and a light salad will be served. There is no extra fee for this event, but please let us know on the registration form if you will be there. The on-site conference registration desk will also be open during this time.
The Finnish Sauna
Saturday, June 8, between 15-22 we invite you to try the conference site’s private Finnish Brahe Sauna that will be available for conference participants at no extra cost. The sauna department has separate dressing rooms for men and women, but a joint sauna so bathing suits are recommended. Inquire at the conference site when you arrive.
The hotel has a gym, and the guest sauna is heated every day from 7 to 10 in the morning and from 16 to 21 in the evening and can be used for no extra cost for Radisson Blu hotel patrons.
Conference archipelago cruise and dinner
In the evening on Monday, June 10, it is time for free networking during an archipelago boat cruise and the conference dinner. After a short walk from the conference site, we will board the Ms Lily ferry that will take us on a ~1.5-hour tour in the beautiful nearby Turku archipelago. The ferry has plenty of indoor seating and outdoor space. After the cruise, the ferry will bring us to a local restaurant for the conference dinner. The cruise and dinner are included in the registration fee.
Guided morning Turku walk or run
In the spirit of the conference themes on mechanobiology and health, a guided 1-hour Turku group run and walk will be arranged for interested participants in the early morning (7.30-8.30), on Monday, June 10. Experience the most famous hills of Turku and beautiful views across the city with your local guide! Bring along your appropriate outdoor running or walking gear, keeping in mind that it may rain in Turku in June. Separate walking (4-5 km) and running (8-10 km) groups will be available (max. 25 persons/group). There is no extra fee for this event, but please let us know on the registration form if you will be there.
